Dan Avenarius dedicated thirty years of his life to serving as a police officer in his hometown police department. Following his retirement from law enforcement, he transitioned into academia, serving as an Academic Dean at Northeast Iowa Community College and later as an Adjunct Criminal Justice Instructor. He then assumed the role of Director of Online Education at the University of Wisconsin, Platteville.
